CARILLION DEAL SECURED FOR PLOWING OF HWY 17 AFTER PARENT COMPANY GOES INTO INSOLVENCY

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation says Highways 17 and 60 will continue to be plowed. Talks between the ministry and the company that does the plowing, Carrillion Canada, began last week when Carillion's British parent company declared insolvency.

SKATING TRAIL OPENING KICKS OFF ALICE IN WINTERLAND CARNIVAL

The Alice in Winterland Carnival begins this weekend in Laurentian Valley. Saturday is an entire day of fun activities, beginning with the Carnival Hockey Tournament at 8AM. Also at 8AM, the Skating Trail will open and that event continues until 3PM.
