Eganville's new natural play space is starting to take shape. Bonnechere Valley has received $6,000 from the county to create the natural play space - and on Tuesday (May 17), councillor Jackie Agnew showed council a blueprint of what the space will look like.

ALLEGED GROW-OP BUSTED IN PONTIAC

A substantial amount of marijuana has been seized during a drug raid in the Pontiac. The Surete du Quebec says 410 plants, cash and equipment used for the production of marijuana were all discovered during a search of a property in Mansfield Pontefract.

PEMBROKE SCHOOL HIT BY VANDALS

Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school on Irving Street in Pembroke is the latest target for vandalism. Earlier this week, school staff contact the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP about several window screens that had been ripped and pulled out of their frames.

Officials at the Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village in Pembroke are hoping to improve air quality at the facility. Museum Director Angela Siebarth says the issue has been on going for some time.

The North Algona Wilberforce Recreation Committee has presented their budget, asking for $26,000 for the year. The budget is used for advertising, reduce ticket programs, and sponsorships.

POLICE SEEK STOLEN LINCOLN

Someone has stolen a 2009 Lincoln MKZ SUV from a residence in Pembroke. According to the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, the vehicle was stolen from a home on Glenwood Drive between 10pm on Tuesday (May 24) and 6am on Wednesday. The vehicle?s license plate reads BHDM 749.
