The OPP are looking to the public for assistance in locating a would-be robber. According to an article in the Ottawa Citizen, a man tried to rob the Macs on Raglan Street South around 7:30 Wednesday night.

TROOPS WILL BE TRAINING IN LAURENTIAN HILLS

There will be an increased presence of military personnel in Laurentian Hills starting tomorrow. Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment will be conducting a training exercise approximately 15 km on each side of Barron Canyon Road until August 4.

Radke Road in the Town of Petawawa is getting some work done, but it won?t be as much as originally planned. Council set a budget of just under $201,000 for the work - but the lowest bid came in at over $323,000.

Provincial police say last year saw one of the highest numbers of charges laid against drivers who failed to slow down and move over for roadside emergency vehicles since the move over law was enacted in 2003.

A Burnstown man is charged with fraud in connection with alleged incidents in the Bancroft area. OPP say they received reports from several people that they paid for lumber that was not delivered.
