With the opening ceremonies of the Saw Tech Log Expo underway, a three day event in Renfrew has officially kicked off. The event has been hosted every year since 1992, and is held in various locations across the province.

MAY HOME SALES DIP BUT LONG TERM STILL TRENDING UP

Home sales in Renfrew County took a slight dip in May but are right in line with the five year average for the month. According to figures released by the Renfrew County Real Estate Board, home sales decreased 4.6% from where they were in May 2016.

Visitors to beaches at Garrison Petawawa are being advised to use some extra caution this summer. Base officials say there is still the possibility of finding an unexploded device along the Ottawa River beaches.

WANTED ARNPRIOR MAN ARRESTED

An update on a story we brought you recently. A man being sought by Renfrew OPP on several criminal charges has been taken into custody. OPP officers with assistance from the Ottawa Police Service found and arrested Cory Scholl in the Carp area.

WANTED MAN KNOWN TO FREQUENT RENFREW COUNTY

A man who is serving a 10 year sentence for Robbery, using an imitation weapon while committing a crime, 10 counts of fraud under $5,000, break and enter and theft is wanted by the OPP's Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad.

More than 300 professional cowboys and cowgirls from five countries are in Arnprior this weekend for the Stampede. Events include bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and bull riding.
