MADAWASKA VALLEY PREPARES FOR FLOODING
4/20/2017 11:57:43 AM

Madawaska Valley Township staff are preparing for the worst. An emergency council meeting was called yesterday to discuss preparations for possible flooding in the area. Staff will provide sand and bags to residents who request them. Over the next couple of days, close to 25 millimeters of rain could be on the way, making rivers and streams more dangerous than ever. According to the Operations Supervisor, Mcphee Bay, Annie Mayhew, Maika, Lower Craigmont Roads, Riverside Drive, White Pine Crescent, Ohio, Tamarack, Blackfish Bay, Pinecliff, Bleski roads, parts of Kartuzy Road and waterfront properties in the village of Barry's Bay are areas the township is most concerned with rising waters.
