BREWERY, LUMBER COMPANY AMONG WINNERS AT CHAMBER AWARDS

Saturday night was a time to get into the Vegas spirit and celebrate local business. The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 13th annual Business Excellence Awards Gala with a Viva Las Vegas theme.
One Professional Services Award winner was Leilani Borne who started her business from a very personal experience.

   

Another local success story was Whitewater Brewing Co. Co-owner Chris Thompson says the company was surprised to have been nominated, let alone win the award for Large Business of the Year.

   

The Lifetime Achievement Award winner was Shaw Lumber. Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet spoke to the family's significance in the area.

   

Shaw Lumber manager and 5th generation family member, Kristin Shaw, says the family is appreciative of getting the award.

   

Other award winners were The Grind Coffee House as Not-For-Profit/Community Organization Award, Bennett Electric for the Skilled Trades Employer Award, the Holiday Inn Express Pembroke for the Hospitality Excellence Award, and Hugli's Blueberry Ranch for the Environmental/Agri Business Award.
