A Petawawa soldier has been cleared of a sexual assault charge. According to a release from the Department of National Defence, Corporal Simon Cadieux was found not guilty of sexual assault and drunkenness following a court martial at Garrison Petawawa. Cpl. Cadieux was charged last year following an alleged incident in Jamaica in November 2015, where he was serving with the Canadian Special Operations Regiment. Despite being cleared, the military says Cadieux could still be subject to an administrative review to see if he broke the code of conduct. If found in violation, the punishments range from remedial measures to release from the military.
