FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR MILITARY SPOUSES TO GET TO COLLEGE

Military spouses who may have trouble getting to Algonquin College will be getting a little bit of help.

The college's Pembroke campus has partnered with the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services and the Support Our Troops Fund to provide $2,500 to help cover transportation costs for military spouses.

Jamie Bramburger is the college's manager of community and student affairs, and he says that as interest to attend the college grows, they hope to make going to school more accessible.

Each spouse will be able to access up to $300. The hope is that once the student is in classes for a few months and gets to know people, they will be able to work out other ways to get to the college with classmates.
