St. John's Lutheran Church in Petawawa is 150 years old today (May 18), but the biggest celebration is being held off until June. Larry Chaput is the 150th Anniversary Committee Chair for the church, and he says Bishop Michael Pryse will join their pastor for a special service on Sunday, June 25. The service will be followed by a plaque unveiling and a lunch. Chaput added that some special guests will be present for the big celebration.

For celebrations this weekend, the annual confirmation for grade 8 students who qualified through the church's Sunday school classes will be taking place.
