FLOOD WARNING EXTENDED AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK IN RENFREW COUNTY
5/19/2017 8:45:45 AM

Water levels may be decreasing but the flood warning for Renfrew County won't be lifted for at least another week. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says high water is still contributing to significant flooding and unsafe water conditions in some areas of the County. Going into the long weekend, the ministry says all residents and visitors should be aware of the risk to public safety because of high water.   There will be strong currents and hidden dangers under the water including floating debris from the flood, as well as bacteria and contamination in flooded areas. They add that recreational boating causes waves and that could affect sandbag walls and contribute to shoreline erosion, so it's best to stay off the water.
