BE SAFE WHEN CLEANING UP FLOOD DAMAGE: HEALTH UNIT
5/19/2017 4:16:55 PM

Not all of us will be using our long weekend for recreational purposes; many will spent their free time cleaning up their properties after recent flood damage. Mike Grace, Acting Manager, Environmental Health, with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit has some tips that may save you grief.

The RCDHU spokesperson cautions one should wear old, discardable clothing and when dealing with basement clean-up, remember there could be mould or other airborne contaminants, so wear an appropriate protective mask. He adds you also need to hold onto the old sandbags as most municipalities will be arranging for their safe pickup and disposal.
