POLICE CHIEF RELIEVED WITH DEEP RIVER'S DECISION TO KEEP MUNICIPAL FORCE
7/14/2017 8:56:26 PM

The status quo prevails in Deep River, as the community will keep its own police force. The unanimous vote of Council Thursday night comes as good news to Deep River Police Chief Barry Swarbrick. The Chief is pleased with Deep River council's decision and says critique from the community survey will provide direction going forward.

The vote puts the issue of policing in the community to rest for the time being, but elected representatives have indicated they will work with local police to explore potential efficiencies and areas of cost savings.
