PETAWAWA SOLDIERS DOING TRAINING IN RIVER FRIDAY MORNING

A group from Garrison Petawawa will be taking to the Ottawa River for training beginning this morning (Friday). N-Company of the 3rd Battalion, the Royal Canadian Regiment will be doing water exercises between 9am and 2pm this afternoon. The training will consist two waves of approximately 35 soldiers swimming across the river. The soldiers will begin the training in Ft. William, Quebec and end at the Jubilee Lodge within Garrison Petawawa. To ensure safety for all involved, the exercise will be watched by lifeguards, spotters in small boats, as well as members of the Pembroke OPP Marine unit.
