The North Street Community Centre is officially open for business. Programs have been running in the Killaloe centre for the last year and a half, but with some much needed funding dollars and a recent expansion, the facility now has more to offer. Executive Director Bill Smith says this is a vital space for the community.

They received nearly $34 000 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation as part of a 150 capital grant and he says they used the money to complete the unheated, unfinished garage as well as upgrade the teaching kitchen. On Friday, they had a grand re-opening and Smith says plenty of residents from the community, as well as the county, came out to enjoy the party.
