PIPELINE CANCELLATION GETS MIXED REVIEWS IN RENFREW COUNTY
10/6/2017 8:30:19 AM

Reaction to the cancellation of the Energy East Pipeline is mixed. Yesterday, Trans Canada made the decision to abandon plans for the pipeline that would of carried more than one million barrels of oil every day from Albertta and Saskatchewan to be refined in Quebec and New Brunswick. A portion of that pipeline had been scheduled to run right through Renfrew County. We caught up with Duncan Noble, the co-founder of the group Pipeline Awareness Renfrew County, and he says this plan was bad for the environment from the start.

Meanwhile, Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski, says it's a loss for the economy.

Both men agreed that whatever process comes along moving forward needs to be environmentally friendly.
