FIRE SAFETY WEEK ACTIVITIES IN PEMBROKE
10/6/2017 1:16:12 PM

Fall weather brings with it warm sweaters, pumpkin spice and fire safety week. Sunday marks the start of Fire Prevention week and area fire departments take the opportunity to remind everyone to be prepared and to be safe. The Pembroke Fire Department kicks things off Saturday (Oct 7) at the Pembroke Lumber Kings game from 7 to 9pm. Chief Dan Herback says fire fighters will be on hand to answer any questions and they'll be handing out information in regards to fire safety.

There will be no open house this year. The department is in transition as they prepare to move to a new fire hall in the near future. Herback says they're planning a rather large open house next year. In the meantime, you can exchange your old smoke detectors at Saturday night's game for new ones.
