Valour School in Petawawa once again honoured a military veteran. Bruce Westgarth retired as a Warrant Officer with the Dragoons after a long military career that saw him battle on D-Day, at Juno Beach and survive his vehicle being destroyed three times. On Friday, (November 10), Westgarth had a commemorative brick bought in his honour that is now outside of the Juno Beach Centre in France. The Warrant Officer says he's honoured to be able to accept this honour at 93-years-old.

Westgarth also received the Legion of Honour which is the highest award given to foreign soldiers in France. He received this medal on the anniversary of Normandy.
