BORUTSKI TRIPLE MURDER TRIAL RESUMES TUESDAY
11/13/2017 8:04:04 AM

Basil Borutski will return to court tomorrow (Tuesday) as his first degree triple murder trial resumes in Ottawa. Borutski has done very little in way of his own defense and for the most part, has been silent through the trial thus far. To date, the jury has heard from the 60 year old's probation officer who shared a letter she had received following the murders of Anastasia Kuzyk, Nathalie Warmerdam and Carol Culleton. By his own hand, he claimed to be the victim, wrongly accused of domestic violence. The jury also heard from family members and viewed the interrogation video in which Borutski confessed to the killings on that fateful day in September of 2015. The trial could move along quicker than anticipated, due largely in part to Borutski's silence. Initially it was anticipated to last 17 weeks.
