Volunteerism is essential in most communities. That's why the Renfrew County Warden's Community Service Awards honour those who give up their time and give back to the community. This year, VC Athletic Therapy was recognized in the business category for supporting various events like Hell or High Water and works with teams like the Pembroke Lumber Kings and Petawawa Grizzlies women's soccer team. The Grind was recognized in the Not-For-Profit category for providing a homeless shelter and so many other services to Pembroke and Renfrew County. Eleanor Donaldson was recognized in the individual category. Even at the age of 90, Eleanor continues to volunteer at Bonnechere Manor, with Meals on Wheels, with her church and with the University Women's Club. Donaldson says she was honoured to have been recognized at County Council last week (Nov 29).

Earlier in the year, Donaldson was also recognized for her volunteerism when she received the Soverign's Medal for Volunteers.
