FORMER MAYOR SAYS HEAD, CLARA AND MARIA FULLY AWARE OF PLANS FOR OVRT

The war of words over the Algonquin Trail continues, with the former Mayor of Head, Clara and Maria backing up the County of Renfrew. HCM maintains the County neglected to keep it in the loop on plans for the trail but a letter from former Mayor Jim Gibson shows otherwise. Petawawa representative Bob Sweet says Renfrew County didn't ask for the correspondence from Gibson, but they were happy to receive it.

Sweet, who chairs Renfrew County's Development and Property Committee, says the issue appears to have been one of miscommunication. He says Gibson's email maintains the Township was fully informed on all developments regarding use of the Algonquin Trail dating from June of 2017.   Also attached to the Development and Property Committee information package of February 28th was a copy of the HCM News of April 2015 wherein Gibson advised his peers Renfrew County had begun discussions on purchasing the former rail corridor.
