FINANCIAL REVIEW IN PLANS FOR WHITEWATER REGION
3/8/2018 8:19:57 AM

The Township of Whitewater Region is finding constructive ways to spend its 2017 Year-end surplus. Chief Administrative Officer-Clerk Robert Tremblay says $248,047 can come in handy. The CAO is allocating $31,200 to hire a consultant to review the municipality's Financial Services Department to assure best value for the money, a hold-over initiative from 2017.

Tremblay says the surplus means he can allocate $50,000 to facility upgrades. As well, just under $105 000 is going toward paying off a Freightliner Tandem truck, and there were contributions made to various reserves for water and/or sewer works along Highway 17 and in Cobden, Beachburg and Haley.
Elected representatives approved the allocations at Wednesday's (March 7th's) Whitewater Region Council meeting.
