STAFF AT LOCAL LONG TERM CARE HOME NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PART IN JERSEY DAY

Marianhill long term care home in Pembroke is facing harsh criticism on social media for refusing to allow their staff to wear jerseys to work yesterday. Some staff members were trying to take part in a nation-wide movement to honour the dead and injured in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash and show support to their families. Several staff members who wished to remain anonymous reported to myFM News that some workers were disciplined when they refused to take off their jerseys. We asked Marianhill CEO Linda Tracey for her side of the story. (press play to hear her statement)

Tracey couldn't comment on reports that some employees were sent home with letters of discipline over their refusal to take off their jerseys.
