CHARGES LAID IN CONNECTION WITH BREAK IN AT PEMBROKE BUSINESS

Charges have been laid in connection with the break in at Cassidy's Transfer and Storage. Earlier this week, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP were investigating the break in that occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP's Crime Unit, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and the Renfrew County Community Street Crime Unit were all involved in executing a search warrant that resulted in charges being laid yesterday (April 12). 35-year-old Joseph McLeod of Pembroke was arrested and charged with break and enter and committing an idictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing today (Friday) but will remain in custody until his next court appearance on April 17.
