LOCAL REAL ESTATE BOARD JOINS CALLS FOR STRONGER PROTECTION AGAINST PURCHASING FORMER GROW OPS 4/13/2018 2:49:36 PM
The 140 members of the Renfrew County Real Estate Board are supportive of calls by the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) to protect home buyers from the dangers of purchasing a home that was once a Grow-Op.
Spokesperson Cindy Sell says transparency is the buzz word in transactions.
Health dangers come from mould and fungus due to the humidity the pot plants require. The spokesperson says Renfrew County realtors are adding their voices to the OREA initiative to strengthen laws on home purchases. The Ontario Real Estate Association fears that with the legalization of pot this fall, the amount of people growing marijuana in their homes is only going to increase.
