STORM CONTINUES TO MAKE ROADS TREACHEROUS 4/16/2018 12:14:55 PM
While the Ottawa Valley fared better than many other parts of the province, we are seeing the tail end of a nasty ice storm. One of the biggest concerns during a storm like this is travel. Constable Sean Peever with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment says the storm has kept officers busy.
With regards to keeping roads and bridges safe in the City of Pembroke, Chris Mantha, the Supervisor for Roads and Fleet says his crew has been hard at work.
From a County of Renfrew perspective, Director of Public Works and Engineering, Steve Boland says with the majority of county roads now looked after, his focus turns to the potential of flooding.
Along with the continued rain this afternoon, winds will be gusting as well. There is snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow, and temperatures will be dropping to below freezing tonight, making for a slippery commute tomorrow morning.
