Renfrew County residents are being reminded that a flood warning remains in effect.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forest says that the Madawaska River and the Ottawa River are still above minor flooding thresholds.

People are being reminded to keep a close eye on conditions and to be cautious around fast-moving rivers and streams.

Residents in flood prone areas are being encouraged to make sure sump pumps are functioning and to secure items that may float away.

If you need sandbags, you need to contact your local municipality.

The MNRF is also advising extreme caution when using forest access roads as many are seasonally inundated with water, prone to washouts and may be impassible.
