Petawawa is receiving $499,800 in grant money that will benefit the community. It's through the municipal stream of the Ministry of Transportation's Community Transportation Grant Program. Petawawa is partnering with Carefor to develop a door to door transportation service for elderly residents and those with disabilities. Carefor's Community Support Services Manager, Alice Grenon, says this money will be so beneficial.

The plan for the funding is to purchase a seven or eight passenger van that is able to hold at least two passengers in wheelchairs and to also hire a driver.
