A Pembroke man has been arrested in connection with two cases of thefts from vehicles in Pembroke. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a complaint of the theft of credit cards from a vehicle on Moffat Street early Monday morning. The vehicle owner confronted the suspect who fled the scene on foot about 3:30AM. Police searched the area for the suspect with negative results at that time. Later that same morning, about 10:30am, police responded after two more vehicles were entered in the same area. Again, a suspect ran off when confronted but was located within minutes and police say a man was arrested with the goods taken from the vehicles on him.   A 24-year-old Pembroke man of no fixed address is charged with two counts of credit card theft and two of possession, two counts of failure to comply, two counts of theft under five thousand dollars, possession of property obtained by crime and trespassing at night. He remains in custody until his next appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 10th. OPP are reminding you that lock-it-or-lose-it is a crime of opportunity and you should take appropriate measures to avoid being victimized.
