7/10/2018 5:47:39 PM

Petawawa councillor James Carmody is seeking re-election.

He's filed his nomination papers in hopes of serving another four years, and he says his motivation for running is simple.

Carmody says he'll continue to strive to keepp the town's tax rates low, promote a healthy community and ensure that the municipality continues to have open and accountable government.

Every member of the current council has filed their nomination papers and no new names have come forward.

Potential candidates have until July 27 to get their paperwork into the municipal office.
