The province is expanding the sale of alcohol, allowing local businesses the opportunity to cash in. Earlier this year, the province announced the expansion of sales to nearly 300 new retail outlets and upwards of 450 grocery stores in Ontario. This week, another 20 locations were announced across the province. The deadline to submit an application is October 8th with site visits starting in November and licenses issued starting in December. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is looking to expand the sale of booze to retail businesses in underserved communities. We broke the news earlier this week that the Round Lake Centre Food Market was one of the first announced expansions locally. The LCBO is also accepting Request for Proposals in several other local communities. Locations in Braeside, Baskin’s Beach, Chalk River, Combermere, Douglas, Foresters Falls, Golden Lake and La Passe can all apply to be an LCBO Convenience Outlet.
