You won’t have to pay to park downtown Pembroke for the first half of 2020. Back in September city council approved a 2-hour free parking pilot project in the downtown core as of January 1st. The City of Pembroke already offers residents free parking downtown in December to encourage local shopping and will continue to offer free parking until June 30th of 2020. The areas included in the 2-hour free parking pilot project include Pembroke Street West between Mackay Street and Hinks, Victoria Street, Prince, Alexander, Agnes, Frank Nighbor, Church Street between Pembroke Street West and Renfrew Street, Moffat Street between Pembroke Street West and Renfrew Street and the Shamrock Park parking lot.
