There is a new man in charge of the OPP in Eastern Ontario. The police force has appointed seven new Chief Superintendents to key leadership roles and Chief Superintendent Karl Thomas has been appointed Commander of the OPP in East Region. The appointment was made official in an a badge presentation ceremony this morning (Thursday) at OPP headquarters in Orillia. The appointment of these senior leaders follows the promotion of three Chief Superintendents to the rank of Deputy Commissioner last fall, and the recent retirement of four veteran Chief Superintendents. The OPP’s Commissioner Thomas Carrique says “from all of our Chief Superintendents, you can expect people-centred and frontline-focused leadership that ensures safe communities and a secure Ontario.”
