The first degree murder trial of Zachary Wittke continues this week in Ottawa. The Eganville man is accused of deliberating ramming the stolen pick up he was driving into a car driven by 65 year old Sheila Welsh of Arnprior in September 2017. Welsh was killed in the violent crash. In week one of the trial, the crown painted a picture of a troubled young man who set out to murder people that day by slamming head-on into them. Various witnesses took the stand and a video taken by Wittke himself was played. The defence is expected to begin presenting evidence this week.
