A vehicle outside of Deep River has ended up getting stuck on a snowmobile trail. According to a post on the Snowmobile Trail Grooming group on Facebook, a white SUV made a wrong turn down a local trail.
In the picture you can see the driver or a passenger attempt to dig out the front tires to get unstuck. The post was shared online by the groomer and trail operator who came across the vehicle and helped them out. The incident occurred on the North Renfrew Snowmobile Association trail 132 along Bronson Road in Laurentian Hills yesterday afternoon (Monday, February 24th).
According to President of the North Renfrew Snowmobile Association, Simon Lawson, the night before other vehicles ended up getting stuck in the same area, but were able to get out on their own. Lawson says while the nice weather makes it tempting to access remote areas, groomed snowmobile trails are not capable of supporting the weight of a vehicle. He adds it’s possible to significantly damage the trail by making dangerous ruts for snowmobilers enjoying the last few weeks of the season.
Lawson says the young couple who got stuck yesterday afternoon was extremely apologetic and grateful for the help they received getting unstuck.
