892 fans jammed the PMC last night during Hockey Fights Cancer night between the Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Rockland Nationals. The Kings wore Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys during their warm-up, which were then auctioned off to raise money for childhood cancer research. Also, the local Canadian Cancer Society office hosted a silent auction and sold Hockey Fights Cancer toques. The highlight of the night was when the Duffy family dropped the puck for the pregame ceremony in honor of Matthew Duffy, who passed away from a rare form of cancer at the age of 15 on December 16th of last year. In total, close to $5,000 was raised for childhood cancer research.
