The Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) has started restricting visitation, limiting access points and set up screening stations. The preventative measures are in place to limit access to the hospital and ensure that those entering the facility are not at risk of having, or having been exposed to COVID-19.
PRH President and CEO Pierre Noel says patients and visitors should only enter through the Emergency Department entrance in Tower A (24/7), the main entrance to Tower C (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and the main entrance to Tower D (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
Noel says if you have a scheduled appointment you should arrive at least 30 minutes in advance in order to allow for screening.
Visitor restrictions have been put in place limiting visitors to one per patient at a time. All visitors must be at least 12 years old with exceptions to be made on compassionate grounds to visit patients who are very ill or receiving palliative care.
The PRH Auxiliary’s Mural Café will close until further notice effective March 17th. The Sunshine Gift Shop will remain open Monday to Friday form 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., until further notice so TV rental service can be maintained.
Noel says any necessary reductions in services will result in patients being contacted directly to advise them of changes or cancellations. The President and CEO of the Pembroke Regional Hospital adds they are doing all they can to protect the health of patients, visitors, volunteers, physician and staff.
