The Pembroke Mall is one of many places currently impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. After the emergency declaration was made in Ontario, many of the stores inside the mall started announcing reduced hours of operation or temporary closures to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Earlier this week (March 18th), the Pembroke Mall shared a press release saying all shopping centre events will be suspended until May 31st, 2020. This includes March or Spring Break, Easter, Kids Club events and Walking Clubs. The release shared by the Pembroke Mall says the health and welfare of their employees, tenants and customers was all taken into consideration when making these decisions.
Updated hours of operations, new closures and other changes are being announced daily and sometimes multiple times per day on the Pembroke Mall social media pages such as Facebook.
As of this morning (March 21st), the only stores that were listed as still being open at the Pembroke Mall were Food Basics, Rexall, Staples, Easy Home, Dollarama, Fresh and Pet Valu. The mall closes at 6pm tonight, with Food Basics staying open until 7:00 pm.
