Canada’s Senate- not everybody believes in it, but it does exist.
Members of the Upper Chamber have studied and passed two pieces of legislation critical to Canadians’ well-being during the COVID pandemic.
The two sessions, on March 25th and April 11th saw senators resolve into committees of the whole to ask key questions of Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam, and three federal cabinet ministers.
Senators struck two committees to scrutinize how the government will make use of its newly legislated powers and the government’s response to the pandemic.
The second committee created will focus on the Lessons Learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic and Future Preparedness.
