This Saturday’s Environmental Day at the Petawawa Civic Centre (May 9th), and a similar event Saturday June 6th at the Pembroke and Area Community Centre have been called off by the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre.
The functions don’t meet Ontario’s Physical Distancing requirements.
While you won’t be able to drop off hazardous and electronic wastes you may have to these locations, you can still take them to the OVWRC’s Hazardous Waste Depot at 1076 Woito Station Road, where they will be accepted at no charge.
As well, hazardous waste will be accepted during the Large Item Collection happening at the end of May in Petawawa, Pembroke and Laurentian Valley.
These items and electronic waste can be placed out for pick-up, but must be separate from other acceptable items.
No decision has yet been made on the Environmental Day scheduled for August 22nd in Laurentian Valley.
