The Catholic faithful have been praying for a new bishop to be installed as head of the Diocese of Pembroke, and Wednesday an answer was received.
Bishop Guy Desrochers, who currently heads the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall has been appointed as chief shepherd of the local faith community.
The Bishop-Designate’s biographic details have been posted at cccb.ca, which is the Council of Catholic Bishops’ website, and there are additional statements on the Pembroke Diocese website.
Diocesan spokesperson Deacon Chris Barrett tells us that Desrochers is no stranger to the local diocese.
