COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of key 2020 fundraisers for Miramichi Lodge and the Bonnechere Manor.
Don Goulet, Chairperson of the Bonnechere Manor Foundation notes that these fundraisers were critical to the homes moving ahead with the implementation of the Butterfly Approach – a concept that creates more home-like ‘neighbourhoods’ versus typical units.
To mirror the concept, the homes have come up with a unique project that can be both carried out under the current COVID-19 restrictions and supports some of the costs to implement the Butterfly Approach.
Local artist Janet Springer created beautiful stained glass butterflies, which are now available for sale.
Purchase one for 100 dollars and it will be displayed in a Butterfly Garden to be created at each home, as part of a permanent art installation.
A wall adjacent to the Butterfly unit in each Home will be covered with a floral garden design, which will in turn be decorated with these stunning stained glass butterflies representing project donors.
