The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) is getting ready for its schools to reopen September 8th.
All of its elementary schools will open for conventional in-person teaching for Kindergarten to Grade 8.
The RCCDSB secondary school model will take a quadmester approach to learning when the school year begins.
The measures and protocols conform with return to school directions from the Ministry of Education and the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
Some of these include one-way stairwells, designated in/outdoors, physical distancing signage, and plexiglass in key locations like school offices.
There are some additional school-specific precautions and/or protocols.
Members of the Renfrew County and District Health Unit contributed to the validation of the RCCDSB’s efforts with a walk-through of its facilities on August 11th.
Discussion and feedback from the day will result in a written report that will be used to finetune preparations for the safe reopening of schools across the RCCDSB.
Director of Education, Jaimie Perry notes that with all of the efforts the RCCDSB team aspires to provide a safe school environment characterized by warmth, hospitality, good humour and joy.
