Work on the Catwalk at Centennial Park in Petawawa is expected to start next week (Wednesday, September 23rd).
Manager of Community Services Kelly Williams says they’re not doing any modifications to the current wall with most of the work focused around removing materials deposited into the pond during the 2019 flooding.
Williams expects work to be completed within one to two weeks.
Williams says they will leave the gap in the current wall to allow a constant flow into the pond and hopefully increase water quality.
The Catwalk wall was damaged during the flooding of 2019 and it’s taken the Town of Petawawa almost a year to receive all the appropriate permits to go ahead with work.
