Ontario’s Tourism Industry is among the hardest hit by the novel coronavirus.
Alastair Baird, with the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association says half of this year’s high season has been written off entirely.
Yesterday (September 16th) tourist operators met with government officials.
It wasn’t a protest gathering on the lawn of the legislature- rather, it’s an annual get-together planned well in advance, and this year it was held virtually.
The gathering involved TAIO- the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, and officials from the Ford government.
The OVTA spokesperson says the discussion was a welcome opportunity.
