The Town of Petawawa is moving forward with work on replacing the floor and boards at the Civic Centre arena.
Director of Community Services Kelly Williams says council has awarded the contract for a design and engineering services at a cost of $67,000 with a hope to start work in the spring.
Williams says the Civic Centre is almost 50-years-old and doing the work will make sure they don’t run into problems mid-season.
The work is expected to take roughly five or six months to complete.
Williams says after getting the designs and engineering work back the town expects to release a tender for the job at the Civic Centre late in January.
