
The COVID-19 numbers today (December 8th) from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit show just how fast the virus can spread.
This afternoon, another 19 cases were reported, all in the Pembroke area.
This comes after 12 cases were reported the day before, 11 in the Pembroke area and one around Renfrew.
The City of Ottawa with a population of 994,000 recorded 18 new cases today.
The population across all of Renfrew County is 88,500.
There’s about 39,500 people living in the Pembroke area which includes Laurentian Valley, Whitewater Region, Bonnechere Valley, North Algona Wilberforce and Pikwakanagan.
At the end of last week the local health unit said there was possible community spread involving a tight knit community of 30-families in the Pembroke area.
It was confirmed by the health unit that the community of close-knit families are in Whitewater Region.
As of 2:00pm, December 8th, there is 32-active cases in Renfrew County, all listed in self-isolation.
