Indigenous learners attending an approved Indigenous Institute can now get OSAP.
The Ontario government is expanding the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) starting in the current academic year.
The announcement was made Friday by Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs.
Previously, students attending Indigenous Institutes could only receive OSAP if the program was delivered in partnership with an Ontario college or university.
Since 2018, enrolment at Indigenous Institutes has increased by nearly 40 per cent.
