Steven and Julie’s No Frills in Pembroke has made a large donation to the local food bank. Owner Julie Coghill says from November 26th to the 24th of December they were asking customers to make a small donation for the St. Joseph’s Food Bank. Coghill says they were able to raise $7,685.78 with one staff member raising roughly $2,500 (a third of the total amount).
Coghill says out of 240 No Frills, the Pembroke location came in 24th place across all of Canada, raising more money than some stores in Toronto and the GTA.
The owner of the Pembroke No Frills says they make donations to the local food bank and the Grind on a weekly basis.
She adds other they have an event this weekend (Saturday, February 6th, 2021) in honour of former employee “Reg” who was with the company for 32-years. Coghill says they will be selling hot-chocolate and doing draws for store gift cards with all money raised going to support the Robbie Dean Centre.
Another fundraiser the Pembroke No Frills will be taking part in this month (February 11th to 28th) is supporting PC Children’s Charity for low-income kids.
