The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has charged a snowmobile rider with impaired operation after a weekend RIDE check.
The OPP conducted the RIDE Program near the intersection of Black Bay Road and Melody Trail in Petawawa.
Officers stopped the snowmobiler and used a roadside screening device. The driver was taken to the detachment for further testing.
21-year-old Kyle Hendry of Petawawa is facing charges of operation while impaired by alcohol, an over 80 charge and for not properly wearing a helmet.
The accused was released with a court date next month in Pembroke.
Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their snowmobile was towed and impounded for seven days.
The OPP says impaired snowmobiling is impaired driving.
