The mobi-mat at the Petawawa Point Beach is now ready to use.
Director of Community Services, Kelly Williams, says the mobi-mat helps those with disabilities, walkers, elderly visitors or parents with strollers cross the sand to access the water.
The Petawawa Point Beach is also equipped with accessible washrooms and a wheelchair friendly beach chair that has tires that easily roll over the sand.
In addition to the mobi-mats, the Town of Petawawa also has an accessible paddleboard and floating wheelchair available to rent.
Williams says when COVID-19 restrictions lift they will also be installing an accessible dock with a kayak launching station.
He adds the Petawawa Point Beach has been very busy over the past couple of days with the extreme heat.
