In an effort to raise money for vulnerable animals, Marianne Carlyle will set out on a triathlon starting in Pembroke and ending in Brockville.
Carlyle is the manager of the OSPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre and will start with a 1.5-kilometer swim from the beach at Riverside Park in Pembroke tomorrow (June 24th, 2021) at 7:00am.
Following the swim, Carlyle will run five kilometers to the Renfrew County Animal Centre with the centre’s interim manager Kate Graham.
Carlyle will then bike 225 kilometres to the Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre, followed by another five kilometer run and wrapping up the day at about 7:00pm.
Sweat for Pets is a five-week campaign that kicked off on May 25th and looks to inspire participants to get active while raising funds in support of vulnerable animals across Ontario.
Over the past four weeks Carlyle has cycled almost 400 kilometres riding between animal centres in Brockville, Napanee and Cornwall, and she has also completed a 30 kilometre run and nine-kilometre swim.
