You’re encouraged to bring a lawn chair as people will be seated in the lawn by the waterfront.
COVID-19 restrictions will be in place and those in attendance are asked to follow guidelines or any signage in place.
Kinghorn says they recruited two dance companies for the shows on Sunday (July 25th, 2021).
The free performances are sponsored by the Department of Heritage Canada who is supporting artists get back in front of live performances.
Kinghorn says CORPUS will perform “Camping Royale”, which is a bit of a comedy, a bit of a fairy tale and features two Queens who go on a camping adventure.
There will be a 5-minute break before Christine Friday will perform “Maggie & Me”. She is a professional contemporary dance artist and choreographer who is Anishinabbe kwe from Friday’s Point on Lake Temagami in Northern Ontario. Her latest piece, “Maggie and Me”, explores community, family, history, and the power of a healing dance as scenes weave through the dream realm, spirit realm and the present realm. Christine will stay after each of her performances – you are invited to stay and hear about her inspiration in developing the piece and ask questions about her culture and dance.
Each event will run approximately one hour.
